Myrsine australis.

A colourful native small tree. Dense bushy habit, reddish stems and rich green leaves with an undulating edge. Black fruits will encourage native birds. Grows quickly. Great as a speciemen or background shrub. Hardy. Avoid very heavy frost when young. Occurs throughout New Zealand in lowland to montane forests, especially around forest margins.
